Setting

With a white granite dining room and a counter-top that transforms into a digital display of moving sakura blossoms and swimming carp, this high-end omakase establishment is a popular go-to amongst locals. Expect a refined atmosphere, with regular guests being show-biz personalities and Bangkok’s wealthy families wanting more and more uni.

Food

Led by chef Somporn Chaibuadaeng, Sushi Niwa offers the option of 12- and 16-course menus. Expect premium fresh ingredients put together for bold, memorable bursts of flavor that will surely please the taste buds. Rare ishidai fish is sliced into small bites, seasoned with truffle salt and presented on a slice of lemon. Kawahagi sushi nigiri, with the liver on top, offers a delicate yet flavourful combination. Then there is the hairy crab—its shell filled to the brim with crab meat, buttery crab fat, rice and a generous amount of ikura. Hokkaido abalone and rice over rich abalone liver is made even fancier with creamy uni on top. At the end of the extravagant meal, enjoy a simple yet juicy dessert starring Japanese strawberries.
