Serving home recipes from the owner’s mother, Sri Trat showcases authentic cuisine from a region of Thailand that so often seems to go missing on the country’s culinary map. With fresh seasonal vegetables and fruits as central ingredients, each dish has unique flavours and textures. Start off with a spicy and sour chilli dip made with crab roe and chunky crab meat accompanied by fresh crunchy vegetables, or perhaps one of the Thai-style salads such as cucumber with steamed juicy shrimp. To share, the crunchy and salty deep-fried boneless sillago fish seasoned with garlic and turmeric perfectly complements the tangy and spicy flavour of sea bass soup seasoned with salacca and Sri Trat’s prawn paste. Have each dish to share with fried rice cooked with spicy seafood sauce, salt and various condiments. Also try a selection from the Mom’s Favourites menu. End with a traditional dessert such as sago and young coconut in brown sugar with coconut milk.
