The regular a la carte menu is supplemented with a blackboard of daily specials. Begin with the crunchy banana flower fritters hiding juicy prawns and accompanied by a spicy dipping sauce. Follow this with a refreshing salad of pomelo with popcorn tiger prawns coated in chilli jam and peanuts, which offers a balance of crunch, fruit and spice. Continue with an unctuous dish of sticky tamarind ribs, the pork melting off the bone. Also excellent is smoked duck red curry with rambutans. The slightly spicy and opulent velvety sauce with the rich, luscious roasted duck is balanced by the piquant sweet taste of the fruit. Desserts are both simple and classic and include mango sticky rice and a small selection of home-made ice creams. Of these, coconut with a hint of salty caramel and a rare durian ice cream are very good.
