If you’re new to Thai cuisine, Sala gives you a choice of two wonderful tasting menus. Highlights feature tom kha gai, sliced chicken breast in a tasty coconut broth infused with lemongrass, galangal and kaffir lime leaf, and barbecued Australian beef sirloin tossed with chilli lime dressing. The second tasting menu has a seafood focus with dishes such as crab meat stir-fried with yellow curry powder, coconut milk and sweet peppers. Fresh local tiger prawns are deep-fried and dressed with a garlic and black pepper sauce. The restaurant also presents a full Western menu including char-grilled heritage Australian black angus beef tenderloin and a rib-eye fillet, both guaranteed to be free of hormones and antibiotics. Luscious Phuket lobster servings are at least 500 grams without claws, sauteed or stir-fried with sauces ranging from green curry to white truffle oil, fish fumet and white wine.
The Wine Spectator award-winning list classes whites and reds according to depth of body. There is a broad selection of wines available by the glass.
