Food

Take your time to peruse a large menu that caters to meat eaters and vegetarians equally. For a starter try one of the kebabs marinated in Indian spices and barbecued in the tandoor clay oven. Tandoori prawns is a fine example: the jumbo shellfish are cooked to perfection. The firm and succulent meat is best enjoyed with Indian condiments of red pickles and mint sauce. For a main course try a classic northern Indian dish such as keema mattar. Minced mutton and green peas are cooked with onions, tomatoes and spices to provide a rich, spicy flavour. It is served in a heated copper dish and the naan is served warm and cloth-wrapped. Accompany it with the signature dal makhani, filling lentils in a thick creamy sauce. Less spicy but no less tasty is a vegetarian dish of baingan bharta, which is minced eggplant with onions, tomatoes and chillies. Finish the meal with kulfi falooda, a classic saffron-flavoured ice cream, and a hot pot of refreshing masala tea with milk.
