When at Quince it is a must to order one of its fresh seasonal salads. Start with charred beetroot salad with berries, feta and pistachios or baby carrot and burnt orange salad with avocado, fennel, coriander and lime. The baby carrot salad is fresh and zingy, while the charred beetroot salad offers a fantastic balance between sweet and salty. To complement the salads, try smaller plates such as jamon croquetas served with tartare sauce or crispy pepper squid with smoked chilli aioli. For something heavier, mushroom risotto with truffle, black olives and parmesan cheese is a comforting dish with a lush creamy sauce. To balance its richness, go for braised beef cheek with smoked cauliflower puree and BBQ radicchio. The meltingly tender beef is deep in flavour and goes beautifully with the luscious smoked cauliflower puree. A meal here isn’t complete without a dessert and choc chip banana cake with honey and salted caramel ice cream is a nostalgic finish that will transport you back to childhood.
