This former Italianate mansion located on the riverside has been tastefully converted into a charming boutique hotel. The traditionally decorated dining room serves both Western and Thai dishes. The venue is best reached by calling in advance for the hotel boat.

Begin with a traditional offering of tender pork in a well-balanced broth-like soup. Follow with pan-seared fresh scallops on a crispy fried betel leaf set in a refreshing salad and accompanied by a spicy sauce. Western main courses include a range of premium steaks from Australia and Japan. Try the juicy striploin served with a choice of sauces and creamy gratinated potatoes. Alternatively choose a Thai dish of deep-fried prawns in red curry. The fresh prawns are served whole and the curry sauce is rich and smooth. Leave room for dessert. Either try one of the ice creams or select hot chocolate souffle cake, which has a rich, unctuous, runny dark chocolate centre and a slightly crunchy exterior. Served with a creamy vanilla ice cream, it is spectacular. For something more simple try a Thai dessert of sago balls with fresh coconut and coconut milk.
