Situated beachside overlooking the Gulf of Thailand, Pla Pla serves excellent pan-Mediterranean cuisine created by chef Chris Patzold. Come early for a pre-dinner sundown cocktail.

From the a la carte menu (unavailable on Fridays, which is paella night), start with the signature dish of Hokkaido scallops with celery root puree and sous vide pork belly. Delicate and meaty at the same time, it comes with hazelnuts and rocket. Another signature starter well worth trying is yellowfin tuna tartare served with ripe mango, watermelon salmorejo, salmon eggs and Thai herbs. The flavours are as bright as the dish looks. For a main course roasted rack of lamb served with sweet potato three ways, romaine lettuce sauce and lamb jus is hard to beat, but also consider seafood risotto, which is packed with prawns, Spanish mussels, white fish and squid and given a lovely lift with saffron. Those with a hearty appetite will appreciate tomahawk prime wagyu beef rib with mashed potatoes and green salad. For a light dessert try one of the home-made sorbets, flavours include passion fruit, lychee and mango.
