Dinner at Panwa House starts with tropical cocktails: for her a mojito and for him a frozen pineapple daiquiri. For an appetiser try deep-fried crab spring rolls served with plum sauce and pickled vegetables. Also good is Thai fish cakes with red curry flavouring and served with a selection of condiments. The appetisers are beautifully presented and represent substantial servings. Rock lobster with sweet and sour chilli sauce is delicate, the meat enhanced by a very piquant sauce. Red snapper fillet with lemongrass, galangal and chilli sauce is well balanced in terms of flavour. Both of these main courses are signature dishes of Panwa House. The limited dessert menu features fresh mango with sticky rice and creamy coconut cream and a refreshing coconut ice cream. Both are simple but fine examples of traditional Thai desserts. English-speaking waiting staff are attentive and skilled.

A reasonable wine list covering most categories, some available by the glass. Also a good selection of cocktails.
