This may be the most elegant dinner address on Phuket overlooking the Andaman Sea. The kitchen offers two distinct menus, one listing fine-tasting regional Thai cuisine, the other chef Darren Viper’s classic French and Mediterranean offerings.

Chef Viper has added some new tastes to his French themed western menu. Besides a very traditional and tasty coq au vin braised in red wine, he offers confit of duck, difficult to find on Phuket, heightened by an amarena cherry sauce and puy lentils. Try the tasty pork belly risotto served with traditional Italian arboria rice, baby artichokes and roasted peppers. Jumping over to the Thai menu, Mon Tri's has introduced a northern Thai recipe featuring Australian braised beef cheek scented with a piquant tamarind sauce and served with mango chutney. Another favourite is local Phuket blue crabs in a mild red curry. Wild betel leaves give the dish its distinctive flavour. Two desserts deserve attention. Passion fruit crepe souffle is outstanding with mango sherbert and for those desiring something richer, chocolate mousse made with white and dark chocolate is hard to beat.
