The signature dish of seared scallops is an absolute delight, the accompanying cauliflower puree more like a mousse which, in combination with the tender scallops, elevates the dish to a higher level. Follow with the George Bradley burger, another signature dish that delivers on its promise to be the best burger in town. It is a meat lover’s dream of black angus beef with caramelised onions served on a home-made bun with pickles, a signature sauce and home-made ketchup and a portion of hand-cut chips. Seafood devotees must try McFarland’s sand and surf. Perfect for sharing, it is a carefully selected combination of local roasted sea bass, grilled jumbo tiger prawns and seared scallops with roasted garlic butter on the side and a zesty seafood sauce for those who like it hot. End with a sinful serving of the creamy creme brulee with Baileys and coconut.

McFarland has a compact but very suitable wine list. What does stand out are the Thai-inspired signature cocktails, which are heady with local flavours.
