The transplanted classic Parisian dining experience–certainly as far as the simple straight-lined decor and the tidy table arrangements are concerned-make a meal here stand out against Bangkok’s many and varied dining offerings. The truffles are the star of the show and though the dishes are of a generally high standard, it is the earthy musky, pungent and funky aroma of the world’s most beloved fungus that haunts you on your journey home.

Dinner starts with the presentation of glass-domed white and black truffle chunks to get your nose attuned to what is to come. Though it is optional, a dusting of white or black truffle shavings are offered with almost every item, which if you aren’t judicious in your selections, can drive the bill into the stratosphere. Truffle soup, a signature dish, is almost plainly creamy and lets the truffle shine through. Lamb with truffle crust is extremely good but do specify exactly the level of pinkness desired. It works well with arugula salad blended with a dusting of black truffle— you could even call it rocket science. An excellent dessert selection provides a fine finish to the meal and recommended is the light truffled panna cotta.
