Setting

Among the few Mexican restaurants that exist in Bangkok, La Monita is a great place to go with friends and family for a laid-back feast. You’ll find an array of traditional Mexican dishes full of flavour. The restaurant can get quite noisy when packed, so it’s probably best avoided if quiet and calm are what you are looking for.

Food

Start with regular nachos, a simple green salad or monkey wings, all of which will get your taste buds going. An order of fajitas with chicken, prawn or rib-eye steak is a great sharing dish. Served on a sizzling hot plate with sauteed peppers and onion and accompanied by salsa and guacamole dips, it is a journey full of guaranteed flavours. The restaurant’s range of tacos is also recommended, or opt for a classic mission-style burrito. You have the option of personalising the filling to suit your taste. If you still have room for dessert, try sweet chimichanga, deep-fried tortillas filled with caramelised banana.

Wine

The wine list is limited but a variety of interesting cocktails are available. The margarita is a popular choice.
