Il Fumo, meaning smoke in Italian, combines the best of Italian flavours with Portuguese flair. On offer is an excellent selection of sumptuous char-grilled meats, premium seasonal produce and impressive seafood dishes.

An array of antipasti includes 30-month dry-cured Portuguese jamon and burrata from Puglia, but the recommended dish is char-grilled kokotxa of bacalhau and carbonara. This fascinating delicacy uses the fleshy and gelatinous underpart of a fish’s jaw and blends it with a light carbonara foam. Also try pearl barley risotto with mazara del vallo red prawns and prawn bisque. The crunchy texture of the barley works wonderfully with the well-seasoned prawn bisque and succulent crustaceans. Main course portions here are sizable, so it’s a good idea to share. Australian wagyu striploin has exceptional marbling, tenderness and flavour and pairs agreeably with grilled asparagus and sauteed mushrooms. End the meal with Il Fumo’s 'this is not a tiramisu 2.0', a distinctive interpretation of deconstructed tiramisu with just the right amount of espresso and rum.
