For old school Italian cuisine with modern twists prepared by chef Roland Schuller. Set in an unlikely mini-mall location, Galleria Milano has a unique small restaurant vibe that makes its sterile external surroundings disappear once you cross the threshold.

Rather than trusting your own a la carte skills, state your basic preferences and let chef Schuller customise a multi-layered meal for you that unlocks successive levels of gastronomic pleasure, leaving you feeling no pain at all when the bill finally arrives. The signature dishes are all excellent—as you’d expect given the price points and the cosy ambience of the place—with the musky, fragrant taglioni with fresh black truffle the standout. Also very good is Falkland sea bass; the flavour of the fish is subtle and the flesh moist and tender. The beef steak is worthy of a mention too—it arrives cooked to perfection with the added touch of a generous smear of fermented black garlic. End on a sweet note with a classic Italian dessert such as tiramisu or profiteroles with chocolate ganache. A meal here offers sweet and savoury sensations that are well-deserving of the restaurant’s growing reputation.

A good list of mainly Italian wines ranging from the reasonably priced to the extravagant, plus a number of French champagnes. Staff are helpful in matching wines with dishes.
