Start off with pan-seared Hokkaido scallops on rosemary polenta topped with crunchy Italian bacon, green asparagus tips and orange sauce for a light bite, or the richer char-grilled sliced veal paillard, which are veal slithers pounded to tender and saturated in virgin lemon oil. Meat lovers will have nothing to complain about in the succulent wagyu beef tenderloin with porcini casserole and marsala wine and rosemary jus, which is juicy and so tender a fork can cut through it. Char-grilled yellowfin tuna loin is also recommended and arrives crisp and crunchy on the outside and prettily pink on the inside. It is served on wild pesto rocket with balsamic vinegar gelatin. Make room for the great selection of desserts on offer, a highlight being the chef’s decadent secret tiramisu.

An excellent walk-in wine room houses mainly Italian wines, although there are labels from other parts of the world. The staff are confident with their recommendations. A good assortment of grappa will send you home with a warm glow.
