Setting

The poolside location on the Eastin Grand Hotel’s 14th floor gives chef Martin Blunos’ restaurant a laid-back indoor-outdoor weekend vibe. Visit on Wednesdays to Sundays from 7pm onwards and you also get funky background tracks by the resident DJs.

Food

The menu at Blunos centres on classic comfort food in generous sharing plates. Smoked salmon, served with mousse and toasted croute, makes a refreshing start to the meal. Opt for lobster roll in which garlic is buttered onto soft rolls instead of the lobster itself, adding a flavourful touch without concealing the poached Canadian lobster’s natural taste. The roll comes with shellfish oil and orange mayonnaise, a refreshing and aromatic alternative to more commonly-used lime. For a main course try lamb shoulder. Slow-cooked for hours with garlic, lemon and rosemary, it is a juicy dish served with crushed potatoes. Eastin Grande pizza makes for another good dish to share, with prosciutto, artichokes,  semi-dried tomatoes, spinach and avocado over mozzarella cheese and a sprinkling of feta. End with chocolate roulette, a dessert of six choux pastries, each filled with a different chocolate ganache.

Wine

A selection of New and Old World wines is available. Standout are the signature cocktails. The photogenic Follow Tom Yum is an eccentric blend of kaffir lime, lemongrass and chilli—it even comes with abside of peanuts.
