Setting

Featuring a casual tavern-style interior, Bei Otto has been serving German classics for over 30 years. Ideal for those with an appetite for solid comfort food and beer.

Rating : 12/20

Food

Begin with a luscious salad of rocket leaves topped with poached pears, beautifully caramelised goat’s cheese and aromatic truffle-balsamic vinaigrette. If you are seeking a more intensively flavoured starter, try the decadently rich beef goulash soup. For a main course, go for the signature Bavarian-style pork knuckle. Boasting perfectly crisp skin and tender meat, it is well complemented by the accompanying sauerkraut and potato dumplings. Also recommended is juicy home-made veal sausage lightly grilled and served with crispy onion, sauerkraut and fried potatoes. Black forest sundae featuring silky chocolate ice cream, cherries soaked in German cherry spirit and a topping of smooth whipped cream is a fine end to a hearty meal.

Wine

The wine list includes around 20 labels mostly from Germany, plus a nice selection of German draught and bottled beers.
