Ranked Top 10 in Thailand Tatler’s Best Restaurants 2017, 80/20 Thai restaurant will be holding a pop-up charity dinner, “Creativity Onwards: Samrub Thaan Samai” at Charoenkrung 26 this Saturday, August 19, 2017. The dinner, co-organised by Thaan and Samrub For Thai, will be hosted at 80/20 and also feature chefs from Bangkok's Nahm Restaurant, Samuay & Sons of Udon Thai and two Chiangmai gems, Blackitch Artisan Kitchen and Eatlikea8oss. With the motto, “same ingredients, different perspectives—on one table,” prepared to be blown away by the experience of modern Thai fine dining. Starting at 3,000 baht (excluding drinks), the seven-course meal promises an innovative interpretation of traditional Thai cuisine mixed with modern culinary.
Offered to start on the menu are crayfish two ways, an option in which guests can choose between crayfish mixed with chilli paste and herbs or charcoal-grilled with cha-kram emulsion and caramelised kaffir lime. Further culinary excitement comes in the form of shrimp paste braised pork belly, sour green curry with cobia, and tamarind relish with pork crackling, to name a few.
The first dine starts at 5:45-8:30pm, followed by the second session at 9-11:30pm. Fifty per cent of the profit will go into the funding for the next Thaan charity, while the other fifty per cent will go to the funding for the Samrub For Thai book.
